Bio
My name is Julia Miamidian. I am a singer/songwriter and violinist from Long Island, New York and a current student at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. My musical journey began when I started violin lessons at school when I was 8 years old, but my true passion for music began when I used it as a coping mechanism while struggling with my mental health during high school.
I like to tell stories, and music is my medium. I am a lyricist first, and I allow the music to form itself based on what needs to be said. Melodies come naturally to me, and I love to emphasize these through vibrant and interesting instrumentation. My genre is alternative pop, and I like to combine mostly acoustic sounds with interesting textural elements. I primarily write while looking back on my own life experiences, like in my song "Muscle Strain." Other times, I will create stories and characters based on more complicated emotions, like in my song “Pluto.” I spend all of my time thinking and reflecting about just about everything, and I am currently working on a long-term project called “Reflections;” essentially a summary of my 21 years of life. My aim in my music is to encourage conversations about difficult subjects, make struggling people feel understood, and to continue to get rid of the stigma surrounding mental health and seeking help.

I have done a lot of writing and recording during my time at Berklee, and I am working on releasing music as soon as possible. Stay tuned!
